Pediatric Dentistry
We recommend seeing children for the first time at age 2 or 3, or earlier if parents have any concerns. A great dental experience at a young age encourages a healthy smile for life.
Sealants
Sealants fill the grooves of the back molars to keep out the plaque and bacteria that cause decay. We recommend them on children's 6- and 12-year molars.
Fluoride treatment
Fluoride varnish applied at regular visits can significantly reduce the decay rate in children. Varnishes stick to the teeth much longer than traditional foams or gels.
Orthodontic evaluation
Digital panoramic X-rays beginning at age 6 or 7, along with careful exams, help us spot irregularities in growth. Early diagnosis can mean a timely referral to an orthodontist we work closely with.
Oral habits
We monitor habits like finger sucking and pacifier use at cleaning appointments and advise parents on how and when to step in, before they affect developing jaw bones and teeth.
Nitrous oxide
Most kids do great with dental treatment. If your child is anxious or has a strong gag reflex, nitrous oxide, also called laughing gas, can make the experience much more comfortable.
New patients of any age are welcome.
